The Logal Explorer series embraces a whole world of scientific exploration. A computerized laboratory (a simulation processor) enables users to investigate concepts and manipulate scientific simulations.
Explorer operates under a proprietary software shell that provides a common user interface. Explorer allows students to experiment with different variables (time, distance, humidity, temperature, etc.) in order to better understand their effect on scientific processes that cannot be observed in a natural environment or in a school laboratory.
The Explorer series is designed to bridge the gap between abstract and tangible aspects of math through real-life animations and simulations. Explorer uses the scientific method and helps students understand the behavior of the model (such as the process of photosynthesis) by posing questions, exploring the model by controlling the variables, testing limits, and examining interrelationships between the variables.
Students develop an intuitive appreciation of the relevant mathematical relationships through making correlations between mathematics and science.
